These terms are the agreement between OrdaBook and the business that uses it, and everyone who signs in to it. By creating an account or using OrdaBook, you agree to them. Please read them with our Privacy Policy and Acceptable Use Policy, which are part of them.
Who we are
OrdaBook is a product of ORDABOOK TECHNOLOGY SERVICES, a business name registered in Nigeria with the Corporate Affairs Commission (BN 9910686), at No. 2, Dr Howard Edafe Street, Ilasan, Lekki Phase 2, Lagos, Nigeria. “OrdaBook”, “we” and “us” mean it.
For privacy and data requests, write to privacy@ordabook.com. For anything else, write to support@ordabook.com.
The service
OrdaBook is an order book for custom-order businesses. It keeps customers, measurements, orders, staff work and pay, and payments in one place, and gives customers links to follow their orders. We keep improving it, so features may change. We’ll tell you before we remove something you rely on.
Accounts
- You must be 18 or over to own a business on OrdaBook, and the app asks you to say so when you start one or become an owner. We don’t check it.
- Staff and managers may be younger. The app asks each person joining a business as staff or a manager to state either that they’re 18 or over, or that they’re under 18 and have a parent’s or guardian’s consent. We keep that statement and don’t check it, and we collect nothing about the parent or guardian.
- Keep your password and PIN to yourself. You’re responsible for what happens in your account, so tell us at once at support@ordabook.com if you think someone else has used it.
- A business’s owner decides who joins it and what each person may do, and is responsible for the people they add.
- Give us true details, and keep your email or phone number up to date.
Your business’s records
The records a business keeps in OrdaBook are its own. It gives us permission to store and process them only to run the service for it, as our Privacy Policy explains. The business is responsible for having the right to record its customers’ details, such as their consent for a portrait, and for answering its customers about them. It can download its records at any time, and delete them.
Plans and payment
- OrdaBook is free during the pilot. Paid plans start at full launch, and the pricing page counts down to it. Before a price changes after that, we’ll tell you by email.
- Once paid plans start, they’re paid through Paystack, monthly or yearly, and renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time; your plan runs to the end of the period you paid for.
- If a business stops paying, it moves to the Solo plan, which is free. It keeps its records, and anything the Solo plan doesn’t include pauses.
- Refunds of our charges are for billing mistakes, asked for within 14 days. See our Refund Policy.
Payments between businesses and their customers
When a business collects payments online, they go through the payment provider (Paystack in Nigeria) and settle into the business’s own account. OrdaBook never holds a customer’s money, and isn’t a party to the sale between a business and its customer. Disputes about the work, the price or a refund are between them, and with the payment provider under its own terms. A business may refund an online payment from the app. Once paid plans start, OrdaBook’s fee per online payment is shown before it applies.
Rewards
- A business can earn plan time by inviting another business that becomes a real customer, or by suggesting a feature we build. The rules, the amounts and how an invite qualifies are in the app, under Rewards, and form part of these terms.
- Rewards are plan time only. They have no cash value, can’t be transferred or sold, and are lost if the business is deleted. We may withhold or take back a reward earned by a fake invite or other abuse.
- When a business suggests a feature, it agrees that OrdaBook may use, change and build the idea, with no payment beyond the reward stated in the app, and confirms the idea isn’t someone else’s confidential information.
Using OrdaBook properly
Use OrdaBook only for lawful business. In short: no fake receipts or payment records, no spam or harassment through the messages OrdaBook prepares, and no scraping or attacking the service. The full rules are in our Acceptable Use Policy.
Suspending or closing an account
If an account or business breaks these terms, we may suspend or close it. Where we can, we’ll warn you first and give you a chance to put things right, and we’ll let a business download its records unless the law stops us. You can stop using OrdaBook, and delete your account or business, at any time.
Our responsibility
- We work hard to keep OrdaBook available, accurate and safe, but we provide it “as is”. We can’t promise it will never be interrupted or free of errors, and a business should check what matters to it, such as amounts before paying staff.
- As far as the law allows, we aren’t responsible for indirect losses, such as lost profits or lost business, and our total responsibility to a business is limited to what it paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
- Nothing in these terms limits a responsibility that the law doesn’t allow us to limit.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. If there’s a disagreement, let’s talk first: write to support@ordabook.com, and we’ll try to settle it within 14 days. If we can’t, we’ll try mediation in Lagos. If that fails, the dispute goes to the competent courts in Lagos, Nigeria.
Changes to these terms
We’ll tell you by email before a change that matters takes effect. If you keep using OrdaBook after that, the new terms apply.
